Game crash - it came from outer space game

Mine has crashed too!

Does anyone know if I uninstall and reinstall via google play, will I lose my points / stars or are they safe? Please advise asap..... many thanks Stuart

I have heard that your start from level 1 if you uninstall and reinstall...

Cheers for that - I will wait for GiS to update it then. I have contacted them but that usually takes a couple of days from what I have read. Good advice and taken on board!

As wildcity said - straight uninstall and reintall will delete your game data..

Unless you have a rooted phone and can get at the data file to backup it up...

Will wait patiently..... by the way, just finished all the airport building upgrades yesterday. Many thanks for all your gifts of the hard to get stuff - much appreciated.

As of last night my airport app has also crashed and will not reopen, so I'm currently out the game too. Very frustrating!! To echo the advice above, I previously uninstalled and installed with the Xmas update and had to start from level 1, so don't go there (especially after upgrading all your buildings!!). I've also lodged a query with GI so fingers crossed.

My EDDY game has the same problem, but it works with wifi off. (Wifi only tablet). I will work on my other missions until they fix it.

My MIRIM game still works. It crashed once this morning while visiting friends, but it restarted normally.

Don't reïnstall, wait for a fix. I just put in a service request, so I hope they'll solve it quick.

Mine crashes also on wifi and without wifi no advancement is saved, each time I open it I have to repeat all actions.

NZ2 wont start up now - crashes - was running fine and waiting for prometheus to return.
tried disabling wifi but no change.
NZ1 seems fine. Both games are running Android but NZ1 is on phone and NZ2 is on Tablet

Are they using the same Android versions? I am using Google Nexus 7 tablet and mine crashes every 2 minutes so I never played it all day today. The problem started Friday morning and it's gotten worse overtime. I would suggest not to keep playing if your AC crashes already as there have been reports that some players saw their AC go back to level 1 or 6 months ago version. It is better that GI patch the problem than lose your game and progress altogether.

they are different versions between tablet and phone.
Update - Clarification:

Phone: HTC HD2, Android 4.2.2 Airport City Version 1.95 - running normally
Tablet: Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, Android 4.1.2, Airport City Version 1.96 - crashes constantly at startup

I also purchases land during the latest sale on NZ2

We play on different tablets. The Sony Xperia has 4.0, the Asus 4.1.

I was wondering, just before the crash EDDY bought land and buildings. Could that be the difference?

I will keep playing my MIRIM game, but I won't buy, move or upgrade buildings.

I bought land and built around 10 buildings on Saturday morning and the game was working fine till the evening (about 7pm GMT), So it was ok for at least 8 hrs I can say.

I just received an email from GIS, it's a matter of time there will be an update to fix this.

"Our engineers have been informed and are taking necessary measures to troubleshoot the problem. Anticipating your question on the time when the issue is completely resolved I would like to let you know that it is expected to be eliminated in the upcoming update.....
As mentioned above, fixing the issue is in the process, and it might take us some time to test the new version and make it available for you. Please, keep it in mind and check for the updates uploaded"

I have the same problem, my game is also crashed, 2 days ago, after the last update, the game has some problems, crashed and closed many tims, especially when I try to visit nighbors :/
I send a mail to them and I am waiting.

on ios mine crashes 50% of the time when i try to visit a neighbor

Has anyone who has been experiencing a crashed game during the "It Came From Outer Space" update had any luck restoring their game using this method? I did not see this backup method before my game crashed, and if GI is not able to restore my game, I am not sure I want to start all the way back from the beginning if this method has not been successful in restoring the game to its pre-crash status.

I think that the real problem is that the data files are corrupt. I have checked this by restoring a backup with the previous version and restoring the data at the time of crashing and it didn't work. I suspected that the problem was with a checksum over the data files in order to avoid tampering them, but tested with aquite old version not including the checksum and it also crashed while loading the files. Therefore, it should not be the checksum but the data files.

So, I guess the only solutions are restoring from an old backup or GI restoring your game.

Good Lord! This is getting hopeless.... I have not been able to play in 6 days!

Having seen the warnings here, I backed up my game using Titanium then went to a neighbour (just before the launch rocket stage of the side mission) - sure enough, this crashed the game and locked me out completely. I restored it the next day (just the data), and all was well until trying out another visit - same thing. Now been going fine if slowly for 3 days (no visiting obviously!). Meanwhile, I am getting a few visitors and their bonuses for the first time in months, and many gifts - thank you all (returning as many as I can)!

For interest just tried again, only picking up passengers (i.e. not the UFO debris). Sadly this too has crashed and locked me out, so it does seem it is something to do with exiting the neighbour's airport that causes the crash, not the new items. Thankfully a third time of restoring the data seems to be working for now. Everything else seems fine - launched a few rockets, accepted new neighbours, got weekend bonus, ... Have to rave about the pyramids too - now have 12 spyglasses and 8 sky captain bonuses (from previous 4 and 0).

I'm now getting crashes when in my own airport, the game is just sitting there on the screen and crash away it goes

EDDY had problems space travelling. Started a launch, then wasn't able to contribute anything, except the 2 points every 10 minutes.

Sorry to the others that joined and had to take over.

The game works on and off. I have to use the stop wifi, open game, start wife trick many times. Sometimes after a crash I have some progress, sometimes not. But the 2 currency I spent by accident were gone even after a crash!

Let's hope the general game-server can be reset in order to
solve all our problems

Crashed in game,now I can't even open the game. Looking at the debugging log, looks like a Java out of memory issue. Total crap.

Crashed for 6 days! Many friends sent me gifts but I can't sent them back everyday as usual. Just want to say sorry to my friends, I've to wait for the GI's patch.

I trust they will soms with an update to repair things, i think we must be patiënt:-)

Mines been crashed for nearly a week now.... and still no update. (NZ2)
NZ1 still fine...

Mine finally died yesterday morning. Will not open anymore.

I also have been having constant issues where the game will now freeze when in my own airport. It was only happening when visiting before. However have been having saving issues for 2+ weeks now where the game forgets all actions completed between sessions. Pretty much unplayable at this point even if the app does somehow manage to get opened. Hopefully there is some kind of patch soon as it seems like a good chunk of users are missing out on the event all together.

And count me in. After 10 days of holding my breath when I opened the game, it finally crashed. So I welcomed myself to the club.

Did everyone contact support? I did with my Eddy game, and I will do it with my Mirim game right away.

Oooops me to :-( I couldnt use the weekend code for 5 greens :-(((((

Game Insight Support is clowning around. They closing cases and solving problem. I am out of game for 10 days!!! Pobably they
don't know what word "solve" mean.
I know that in their helpdesc stats it looks good - problem solved in 5
working days!!!
I don't agree. I was dayly player for 1,5 year!

Please, If anyone of you has a problem then write to them and not just wait for the update

I first subscribe as I believed I have found a solution.
Unfortunatly, it is the same Moustik: it is just a little bit longer, but still crash, and nothing is save (no quit, no neighboor (the next topic), nothings).

On the other hand, I get a ticket from the support (this morning, french time), and already get an answers.
Not a really good one, but they know the issue, and are preparing an update, soon (..... i hope)

My game is getting slower and slower, but no crash yet. At least I got the 5 greens. (I'm playing on Galaxy Note smartphone, Android 2.x)

I won't play any more until the update comes out.

I managed to restart my game yesterday after one week of not working. I didn't made anything different, it just worked by his own

The only thing I made in game was to enter the weekend code (for 5 green cash) and then closed it. I've the fear if I try to play, it would crash again

I contracted with GI for another problem in April, the first sentence in their replies were "the problem solved"

I'm a software developer and I understand the process of closing tickets before the software is released (especially as a ton of tickets have been created here for a single problem). I wouldn't be too harsh on the GI team:

- you can't instantly get developers to fix a problem when they're on other projects
- it takes time to test your changes before releasing, otherwise you get caught in a cycle of bugs and releases
- anybody who hasn't paid any money towards the game really doesn't have a leg to stand on (including me!)

I am now in the same situation as well. My game crashed last night. Can't get back in any-more. The game crashed when I went to my incoming gifts and clicked on the "Take" button.
