Population of Special Buildings
Since it looks like some of us will be leveling most of our work to continue playing this stupid game, I thought a list of the special buildings (items not in the shopping cart) and population would help in the decision making - here is what I know from what I still have in inventory, please add any below and I'll update here:
University - Population 20
Mail Kiosk - Population 0
Stadium - Population 20
Halloween Shop - Population 8
Santa's House - Population 6
Igloo - Population 2
Ice Sculpture Park - Population 8
Christmas Gift Shop - Population 8
Gift shop (from the 4th of July event), 1x1 coins bldg: +8
Merry-go-round (from Valentine event), 1x1 pop bldg: +8
Fish market (from Seattle collection), 1x1 coins bldg: +0
University - Population 20
Mail Kiosk - Population 0
Stadium - Population 20

So far, I've found all coins buildings to require the same as standard ones (1x1 building: 1 electricity, 8 population; 2x2 building: 3 electricity, 24 population) except:
Mail kiosk and fish market: 0 population (i/o 8 )
Christmas buildings (Skating ring, Sculpture park, Ice castle): 8 pop (i/o 24)
University, Stadium: 20 population (i/o 24)
And although not a special building, the Reseach Lab has also: 0 pop.
In particular, I was quite disappointed with the green-cash-only mysterious buildings to be just the same as plain ones.

I thought the mystery buildings (the red and gray tower, ice cream store, etc) take 0 population, and they just take electricity. Unfortunately, I don't have any in my warehouse to confirm.

I bought a mystery building (red tower) after the 'bug'. It needed 8 population.
