"Thanksgiving Day" Event Guide 2013

I think this one is fairly straight forward but in keeping up with the Events...

Please post any additional comments below and I'll update the main post as needed.

Completion of the event will earn pioneer lodge 1x1 (9 coins every 10 minutes, increase max population +20)

You'll notice the pictures for the chest and the prize pioneer lodge are mixed.

I have a little problem with Thanksgiving!
Since the beginning of the quest, I can not fly.
There may be more who encounter these problems or are a lone pilot.
I hope every body has received a his gifts let me know,please.
Send GI already a mail but you now the drill.
I can recieve gifts but can not visit any of you.

Think this is a known issue to GI. They're working on a patch.
Of course since they have zero change control they'll create more stuff ups in that.

Yesterday I activated the magnifier Spy Glass  (the bonus item to improve collecting special items), don’t know if it is helpful for collecting at neighbors as well but I did get a lot of drops and finished the first task by collecting it three times in only one day (only had 2 items before).
The drops of planes didn't increase (concerning this quest), so for the 2nd task you shouldn't activate it.

I completed this quest and as usual the special building didn't add 20 passengers to my total. I didn't get it for the genomic research institute either. Anyone else had this problem?

I got the 20 additional for the Genomic fortunately.

Not close to finishing the Thanksgiving quest. I've gotten only one new item in two days worth of flying. :-(

Does anyone know if finishing these quests kills the excavation route maps?

Please note that is it population max +20 and not passengers max  

That would explain it... Who is running out of population?

Yes I agree. +20 fuel max would be better.

I just completed the "visit you neighbours residences" part of the task so now my visits can gather more useful stuff like fuel.

The drops from my flights are painfully infrequent.  Needless to say I have five seven of one item and zero of another. LOL

I've been burning up spare fuel trying to get the flights to return quicker. And of course, it figures that my fuel depot is currently under construction so I don't earn much fuel on my own.

Bought the bullet and used a spy glass.(150% chance quest item drop)
Had 3 sweet potatoes drop so now quest complete for me.

I've just bought all the coin maps from the airship, so will use them up until the next queat starts.

Not really getting anything from flights...and I'm trying to send the planes back up as soon as they land.. did the first and last event, still working on the 3x meals I have to collect from flights, only have one since the event started on Android version. Pioneer lodge is pretty cool so I want it, but frustrating how nothing but flight items ever drops from flights.

I'm down to needing to complete one of the "drop" sequences. I'm just missing one each of two items.

It's like pulling teeth. I go 2 days without an item drop then get two more of the one I already have 8 of!

I just have to rant here for a sec. After getting two out of the three tasks done pretty quickly, I've been stuck trying to complete the Thanksgiving collection. I just got the second collection done, but as completing the first collection seemed to screw up the drop rate, I figured I'd wait until I also got the third before collecting it properly. I closed my game and now as I opened it, it has reset back to the point where I still have to collect the planes and my second collection is somehow gone!!! My game has never ever reset before! Is this some cruel joke by the creators?? I am so bummed!!!

So sorry to read that Nia. I came here to gloat a bit because I just finally finished this quest.  Waited for three days for cranberry syrup or something like that.

I only need 5-6 items to complete this event this year, but after using 2 spyglasses, I still couldn't get the final item. No reward building for me this time.

Actually 5-6 items is quite a lot. It took me 3 days to get the last 2 items. At the end I needed to speed up the planes and use spyglass. That worked.

18-16-10-21-0 for the collection at the end, missing one for the last collection for the event.  Using the 2nd Spyglass didn't help. One of the items didn't drop till the second last day.

I had the same experience with the Christmas event last night.  Strongly recommend to stock up fuel and passenger.
