Rock the World

Without updating, I have opened my game to a new mission - Rock the World.

Got to complete three of each of the following collections:

Sound of Music (Montreal)
Girl's Best Friends (Cape Town)
From the Bowels of the Earth (Santiago)

Penny for anyone's thoughts - starting from scratch, is this a feasible challenge to complete in 14 days with three jumbos? I don't have any spare fuel in the warehouse, nor do I have greens to spend on more fuel. Seems like a bit of a tricky one to me.

I've noticed that the suggested drop rates for every collection have changed from "very seldom" to "Seldom," if that means anything.

Also, based on some information I saw on another forum, I think the reward for the event is a single building called a "Recording Studio."

I may send out a couple of jumbos for a while to test the drop rates, but if it's starting to seem fruitless, I'll stop and continue to stock up on fuel for the Airship Map quests....

I am still on level 36, so am not even gonna try since the Cape Town route only unlocks at level 40 - no chance of that happening in 14 days.

I still need the stars from those destinations anyway so I'm gonna go for it.

any stats on the recording studio ?

I restarted my game yesterday and received an window, that I finished the mission. I think it's because I already collected the needed collections in the past. That was the fastest event I've ever finished

9 coins in 10 minutes? Hardly seems like it's worth busting a gut over - I can get that at the grocery store! Don't really need an extra 20 on my population either. Ah well, I'll give it a shot and see what the drop rate is like, but if it takes me a week to get just one of each of the collections I think I'll kiss this one goodbye. Thanks all for your info/comments.

I agree. I have two jumbos going out a couple of times a day. So far, I've gotten a few drops - it's definitely more than the usual drop rate, but not by much.

Thanks to the Christmas Tree from the old Santa quest, I have some parts already.

That said, I'm not going to go nuts wasting Propellers, Nav Modules, etc. if it starts looking bleak.

I was doing some math yesterday when I saw this mission pop up. Since each of these flights takes 8 hours 40 minutes, I will only be able to send out 2 flights per plane, per day. Let's say if I sell all my planes and buy 8 jumbos, I will only be sending out 16 flights a day. At a span of 13 days, I will be able to squeeze in 208 flights.

Since I don't have most of these items, or if you are starting from scratch, you'll have to collect 3 sets of five different items for each destination, and it'll total to 9 sets. These are 45 items. I doubt I will get these 45 items in just 208 flights when they are dropped "seldomly", and not to mention the fact that there'll always be one item from each set that's always hard to come by.

I guess I will keep saving up fuel for now, and focus on the Airship Map quest just like what rockmsockm said.

is this quest android-only, becuase on ipad i have a new 'cinemania' quest for films and bow-ties

Cinema quest was year ago on Android

I'm going to give it a few more days... One plane came back with 3 drops, the other two planes came back with no drops.

Thats the problem with the missions they give use...
1 week you need several turbo props, Jets and Deltas..
the next you need all Jumbos
I'd sold 3 jumbos to buy smaller planes to complete the Space Mission 2.
Now i need Jumbos again... no doubt as soon as this mission is finished i'll need all turbo props again...
I've quiet easily loss 300000 over the last couple of months just switching between planes.
Wouldn't it be great if we could warehouse a plane or two.
Not to mention every third Jumbo breaks down and requires an Altimeter to fix it. Potentially stalling the game for 8 hours in the repair bay

I usually don't buy/sell the *large* planes too often - I like to keep a good variety, for better or worse. lol. I always have a minimum of 2 jumbos, and one blue one. I rarely have more than those 2 jumbos at any given time - if I can't finish a particular challenge with those 2, then so be it... for the smaller planes, though, I will buy multiples.

hi guys, had 8 green jets in use but sold 4 and bought 4 jumbo's for this mission.
I already completed 1 of each when we started and used some trics to speed up and only need one more set to go of the 9 total.

if you startup the game and receive your boings and don't get a drop, immediatly exit and start the game again. big chance you get a 2nd going and sometimes a 3rd. I speeded up the process so fast that I am almost done

Really? I'll have to try that. It's funny, because I have emailed GI a few times telling them how occasionally, when I quit and re-enter the game, the progress of my last visit was lost. This may be the one time it could work in my favor. lol

game save is a problem that has been going on for a long time.
I can be fixed by visiting a neigbhour before closing the game

other glitch is that I havent seen visitors for a long long time now an I used to have a lot a day

Oh i know... I actually found a workaround a while ago. It would be nice if we didn't have to.. lol

FYI I tried that trick 4-5 times now, and it never worked. Guess I'll go back to playing normally.

I've done the same thing and just completed the mission (finished about 5 flights after getting the 2nd star for each) - works well, also when a plane is broken you can exit and re-enter and get a new chance. However, it doesn't always work and it helps if the phone is already slowed (e.g. by having just picked up lots of coins, or having just visited neighbours). The same method also works for ensuring you get something decent from the "launch ready" collections (~ every fifth is a premium object, so need to recycle it a few times), the right maps from the Aztec mission, a decent mystery bonus etc.

However - be warned it also works in reverse. I've lost several collections from forgetting to "save" what was just dropped, losing it by exiting too fast. On my phone, just putting it to hibernation or going to the home screen without exiting is enough to save the drop (quicker than visiting a neighbour, though this also works)

Funny how this always used to happen to me when I DIDN'T want it to happen, but now it won't. lol I'll keep trying, but so far, nothing.

Yes indeed!

I've found that you have to exit then hibernate extremely quickly after picking up whatever you need to recycle; then leave it off for ~30 seconds then restart the phone & game. Usually this works, but only reliably when there is a lot else needing saving (e.g. a hoard of coins - need at least a dozen buildings to collect from first). It works much more reliably on opened items than on planes. Even then it sometimes fails - if you pause just for half a second (e.g. miss the "exit" button) or you see it waiting before exiting it'll have failed. However it is more complex than just being quick - twice I managed to recycle a map collection to get Chichen Itza & Tenochtitlan rather than the Machu Pichu & Tollan that had dropped, even though it takes forever to scroll through the warehouse to get there to see what maps have been given...

got that stupid studio but my meter is stuck at 740 passengers so no upgrade.... don't know what I did it for then...

The studio gives +20 to your population and not to the passengers

Been trying that tip for 4 days now, and it hasn't worked once. lol I HAVE noticed the drop rates went up a little for me, but I still doubt I'll be able to get 3 collections of each in time. Oh well!

funny thing is that the game seem to be saving better.
