Crashes in Windows 8.1 after last update

Since the last update, I cannot even open the game in the windows platform - cannot send anyone screenshots, no friend code, cannot barely even see the start screen.
Tried to install on the desktop, and while the load screen starts it them minimizes and does nothing....
