Long-Awaited Mail

Heya!

Has anybody some kind of information regarding this event: "Long-Awaited Mail"?
GI introduced it on their Airport City Facebook page but I don't see anything in my game and there is no available update. Is it only for Android users?

Apparently it is only for amazon and windows players. 
They talk about it on the other forum.

Android users had it last year. I keep hoping they give it to us again but it looks like we may be passed and go directly to Dark Skies at Halloween. Here is a guide to it from last year:

What's the benefit of doing so many different versions between windows/android/iOS? They expect us to start the game on another platform because we can't stand not being able to play a quest? I don't get it.. Sometimes I have the feeling everybody left the Airport City development team and that a stupid robot is managing it

The windows version is about where the android version was 18 months ago. I am thinking they took all their good programmers and moved them over to get the window platform stable, work out the bugs, get them to level 50, etc. It's a large, new market and will potentially be a huge money maker for them.

It would be a bonus if they could get them to cross platforms to android/ios too.

I have played this game before via facebook. Is that the same as the windows version? 
I didn't like that facebook version at all. You needed pilots for the planes (often 2) which could only be yr facebook friends who also played. Or of course buy a pilot for 1 greenie. 
And also the oil was only once per 3 minutes. When I had a look at the android version, the choice was easy.

The event has finally started. The yellow knives can be hard to get!

I can gift Handheld Scanner for the Post Office, and I have 1 Post Office for visit for now.

I have one post office in the far ne corner. I can gift Numerators.

Edit: Apparently I had just enough components for a second P.O. so I built another. I'll probably temporarily change my in-game handle to .Brin2Offices or something.

I think the explanation in the game is terrible, after reading last year's thread it's more clear. It's seems like a hard event because of all the different items you have to collect.

Agreed. Without drivefast99's guides I would be lost.

I also agree. I really appreciate the link to the guide. I don't know if I'm going to do it, but for what it's worth I can gift the marking machine.

Got all three tasks done this morning (lots of leftovers from last year). Will hold of completing until the last day to help my neighbors. Have one Post Office next to the Stone Henges, not enough room left for more--hope the expansion update gets here soon. Will prioritize returning gifts for the quest. Good luck everyone!

I agree... Thx to last years thread i all became clear to me... Have to buy a post office....

Add a couple tips:

1. When visiting neighbours, it is better to prioritize getting the "Stationery Knife" by collecting the scattered mail around their city.  Last year, the knives are hard to get, and the drop of the items for the "Express Delivery" collection is truly "very seldom".

For the "You've got Mail" collection, it is pretty easy to complete by flying to the event destination, so there is no need to waste the neighbour visit for this.

2. I have noticed some neighbours have visited the Mail Kiosk in my city.  Note that they don't drop any items at all for the event.  Again, don't waste the neighbour visit on this.

3. You can purchase the "Large Mailbag" for 12 Greens, and it gives 20 Letters for flight and 30 Stationery Knives.  If you are desperate on completing the "Express Delivery" collection near the end, this one will be useful.
