I don't want stuff for the music arena please. Look at my profile for my list but stamps, server racks and shredders are needed.

I think if you send someone something, even if they can't send it, they can send it back to you so if for example you wanted a smoke detector you could send it to someone and they could send it back to you so it is yours even if they don't have it. Could be helpful.

Thanks for the shredder SR71 Now I just need 2 server racks. I've given up on the music arena because it's not worth all the cash, airport cash, effort, and chances to give gifts.

i have an idea, but it needs more thinking how to do it right, maybe someone here can complete it....
with the new gift system (everyone can send only one random item out of 4 that are needed for a certain upgrade) it became much tougher to help each other. For example out of about 20 gifts i got yesterday only 1 or 2 where stuff that I need. I would like to optimize this percentage a little bit....
First, lets face it, the wishlist in the profile system doesn't really work. Would you really go to check the profile of everybody to find someone who needs whatever you can send on daily basis? Its to exhausting...
What i thought about is to make a table in which the columns will be all the possible gifts, and the 2 rows will be: 1. can send 2. needed. Than we can fill this table with names of the Game user-names. I think such table would make it much easier to send/ask for gifts.
The table can be either a forum thread or a downloadable file. The most important thing is that everybody should be able to update it (because i assume that the admins of the forum wouldn't have the time to keep this table updated). Another important thing is to protect this table from spam i.e. only needed info and no additional posts.
I do understand that making such a thing is not easy and my thoughts are only in a preliminary level, but such a table can do wonders to our gift sharing. So I challenge you guys to find a way to do it user-friendly and efficient......

Mitno, i was thinking at something different as well. But i think it's better to wait for the big update Game Insight is talking about.
Their official announcement is:

"Hey, we are glad to announce the big update - very soon you will be able to visit your neighbours! That will help you earn more, because you will earn coins and get fuel, passengers, and sometimes the quests items from those visits! Stay tuned!"

It would be nice if you can visit a friend and see which item they need at that point. But we have to be patient to see how it's going to work.

Personally, I don't find it that tedious to bring up the Members List and click on each users profile as needed. Takes me 5 minutes or so to send out my quota of gifts.

A table is doable, but it would have to be implemented online. A downloadable file will not work because you'll end up with multiple files floating around and edits will inevitably be unintentionally overwritten.

For example two users download the list at the same time and make individual edits. One user uploads their file first and then the second user uploads their file. In doing so, the second user will overwrite the changes made by the first user.

You can user Google Docs to make a publicly editable spreadsheet, however it would be open to anyone and everyone. If you want to protect it from spam, then you could set it to require log in, but then again not all users have a Google account, or some users might not want to go to the hassle of having to log in.

I totally agree. Personally i use the "Neighbors" section, not the "Gifts" section. Every day i send my items to the same people and they are always shown right above each other. So it's pretty easy to share your daily items.

It would be nice, but I strongly doubt this feature will be implemented.

I meant the part about seeing what items your neighbors need/want. I am not doubting the visiting neighbors part.

@Benzo123 - Might be a good idea to update your Needed Items list in your profile. I normally go by that when giving out gifts.

Like SR71 said earlier, keep your needed items list updated. If you don't you get all sort of items you don't need.

Another thing... Please check the profiles in the member list when sending items to your neighbours. It's pretty annoying when you keep you're profile updated and still receive items from members of this forum which you don't need. This was one of the main reasons to start this forum.
So guys, please keep you're profile updated and check the profiles of other members. It only takes you about five minutes to send your dayly items.

When you register here, take a minute to introduce yourself in the "Break the ice" topic. When you actively participate to this forum, you will see that other members will start to send you items as well.
