Map Set Information Empty Map Set Information

Post by Infusion77 Wed Aug 14, 2013 11:39 am

As I find myself looking through different topics to find out which planes can fly with each map I figured it made sense to bring all of the information into one thread. If there are any errors or you have info to add please either PM me or post below and I will do my best to edit it in. Big Thanks to everyone who contributed.

All of the maps in bold and Green are able to be purchased from the airship store while the Red maps must be obtained from boxes. When becoming a master in the flights you will obtain free boxes of maps which will give you access depending on your luck to the Red maps. If you run out of maps or need more items for your collections you will need to purchase the box of maps from the Airship store for Green Bucks. It can be helpful to activate a spyglass and rush planes for the limited maps depending on how many collections you are going for. I do recommend to have as many hangars dedicated to the map as you can, also the Fuel Catalyst is extremely important as if you can use it once you will be able to send those same plans out on one map. Vintage Weathervane's can also be helpful in getting multiple planes out on a single map.

It is also advised that if you are going for multiple collections that you do not complete the collection until you have all of the items you want as it has been reported that drop rates can lower on these maps after completing the collection.

Regarding the Aztec Legacy maps - since installing the Voyage, Voyage update on my Sony Xperia phone, the reward for becoming an expert in one of the flights is no longer (at least for me) the box set of three random maps. Instead I got a weird little red hangar in my warehouse, which is irritating as I'd spent bloody ages saving fuel to get to expert level precisely for the map set! I'm assuming this is another GI f*** up - the hangar has got 'NULL' written above it - or possibly an intentional piss take on their part, unless of course the little red hangar does something amazing. Penny for anyone's thoughts...?

Hmm that seems weird that they changed it to a Hanger and one that you cannot build on top of that.... If there are any changes and you are able to build / use that building just let us know. For the meantime I will update the post to say the only way to obtain these maps is via the Map Set Boxes purchased for Bucks.

Thanks for the info and updates everyone, keep it coming Smile

Map Set Information Empty Map strategies

Post by realent Sun Sep 08, 2013 2:22 pm

I read that once you complete one collection the drop rate decreases.  Would you recommend I keep flying for example to each destination except one to get 6 of each then start flying to the last destination working on the last 6 drops to get the pyramid?

What strategy (s) have you used?

I am just starting to fly with the maps........

MAP SET #1 - "Aztec Legacy" - Maps Active for 6h - All Item Drop Rates are Seldom

Machu Picchu- Turbo Prop: 20 Fuel - 38 Passengers - 100 Coins - 60 XP - 6 Hours - 40 Fuel Speed Up

Quetzalcoatl Temple- Jet: 24 Fuel - 80 Passengers - 6 Hours - 48 Fuel Speed Up
Tenochtitlan        ------ Jet: 24 Fuel - 80 Passengers - 6 Hours - 48 Fuel Speed Up
Chichen Itza Temple -- Jet: 24 Fuel - 80 Passengers - 6 Hours - 48 Fuel Speed Up

Each location drops one item towards collection "Aztec Legacy" Prize For Completion of this Collection;
Coins 1600
Experience 600
1x Sacred Mask

When you get 6x Sacred Mask you get "Aztec Pyramid"

Post by Infusion77 Thu Sep 12, 2013 5:28 am

My strategy thus far has been to have a small stockpile of maps (had 8 of each the maps you can purchase when starting) and then fill all 9 hangars with the corresponding plane. Then I just hit one destination over and over, using this strategy I got an average of 20 items for the collections from the destinations.

The main thing is that you don't complete the collection until you are satisfied with the total number of collections you can do.

Also of note for the first 3 map sets having a fuel catalyst is quite helpful to get all the planes out a second time on the same map and currently on my device I am still unable to use them so if u have a similar situation it may be worth saving the maps until that has been patched.

The drop rate on the Aztec and Druid quests are about 1 drop per 4 flights (got something like 22 - 24 items for flying 90 times).

On the other hand, the outer space seems to be much less. I've just started, and got nothing after 6 landings. Given that from each destination we need 5 distinct items, it doesn't look very promising...

Do they also give an additional map once you reach each star level (after 30/55/110 flights)? Might be worth trying to reach 30 flights with the first map then.

Just double checked in my flight list and I am not able to see any new locations added in. Perhaps you can provide a bit more information like the name of the new destinations or anything along those lines.

Map Set Information Empty Re: Map Set Information

Post by parking_god Sat Nov 30, 2013 1:24 am

It appears that the 'adventure destination' maps are single-use only (i.e., not active for a time period). I just sent two Deltas to Excavation: Stonehenge and had to buy two maps to do it. It lists Map Chest: Stonehenge in the drops, but since the drop rate is Seldom and it appears there's only one map in the chest (a '1' in a green circle at the lower right of the chest icon), I'm guessing this won't be a self-sustaining proposition.

Geez, GI - 50 to 100 greens to three-star a SINGLE destination? How desperate do you think we are?

I was in the middle of the aztec quest when this happened. I can confirm that you can no longer get maps from flying to destinations. I also had one map to chitzen itza and flew there 35 times only to get two bird masks so it appears the drop rate is much worse. Really wish I didn't update because even after completing the thanksgiving event I didn't get the +20 max passengers that the cabin promissed. Does anyone know what the large bronze chest contains?

There are new collections,
Number 85 - you can win a Colosseum
Number 87 - you can win a Sfinks, and
Number 89 - you can win a Louvre.

Will need a lot of greens and fuel to finish them, but it's nice to have another challange.

Just finished flying to Rome Excavation and got a map to an entirely new destination - Carthage - am I to assume therefore that the new maps are entirely different to the Adventure collection?

Has anyone tried to remove the battery after a flight? Does it save your progress? I was going to fly to the excavation destinations but I wanted to use as little green as possible. Is there another way to exit the game without it saving your progress?

Excavation maps can be bought for coins at Duke's airship store. All five maps are available to buy at 2000 coins a pop, and Duke has got 20 of each in stock. Five greens on the other hand will get you a chest of 20 excavation maps for a certain destination.

Confirming what Simon saw. You can still get map sets (for greenbucks), but it's a random selection of maps out of the group, including ones that you can buy with coins. I bought two Map Set: Mesoamericas and got
set 1 - 2 Tenochtitlan, 1 Chichen Itza
set 2 - 1 Chichen Itza, 2 Quetzalcoatl Temple

I was happy with 4 out of 6 of those - Tenochtitlan and Chichen Itza are the ones you can't buy with coins, but I already have enough Quetzalcoatl Temple maps to finish that one off so I didn't need any more. Oh, well. At least I didn't get any for Tollan or Machu Picchu, which I've already three-starred.

So it looks like we have a couple of new map sets to add to the main post. I don't know details on the flights per se since I haven't tried any of them yet, but we can fill them in as we go:

(85) Roman Holiday (all drops Seldom)
Constantinople - drops Seated Hermes
Carthage - drops Capitoline Wolf
Veii - drops Capitoline Brutus
Ephesus - drops Furietti Centaurs
Merida - Jet, 24 fuel 80 pax 48 speed-up; 20/50/100; drops Equestrian Statue of Marcus Aurelius
Yields an Augustus of Prima Porta, Large Bronze Chest (always) and Colosseum (up to 6 times)

(87) Riddles of the Pharoahs (all drops Seldom)
Cairo - drops Pschent
Memphis - drops Nemes
Luxor - drops Royal Crook
Kom Ombo (sp? The font on my phone is very very small) - drops Royal Flail
Heliopolis - drops Wax Sceptre
Yields a Sarcophagus, Large Bronze Chest (always), and Sphinx (up to 6 times)

Collection 89 is Sands of Time, which requires Sacred Mask (Aztec Legacy), Druid Horoscope (Guardians of the Forest), Chariot of Zeus (The Ancient World), Augustus of Prima Porta (Roman Holiday), and Sarcophagus (Riddles of the Pharoahs). Yields Sky Captain bonus, plus 2k coins, 1k experience(*), Large Bronze Chest (always), and The Louvre (up to six times).

(*) Like anybody capable of doing this isn't already at level 40 where XP stops being meaningful.

That's good to hear and I'd be very curious to hear about the drop rate to Chichen Itza as I did 40 flights and got two bird masks. Has anyone done 40 flights using the "Excavations Map: Mesoamerica"? I'm curious if you would get more or less then 3 maps with that many flights...

I haven't hit Chichen Itza yet, but in 100 flights to Tollan and Machu Piccu I got 21 Obsidian Knives and 23 Bas-Reliefs, respectively.

On 109 flights to Quetzalcoatl, I got 14 Quetzalcoatls. And 5 of those were in my first 15 flights, when I had Golden Dice active.

Was this before or after the most recent update? I got around the same number from Machu, I haven't done Tollan yet but got 25 two headed serpents from Tenochtitlan

I *think* it's Jet, because that's what Excavation: Ancient Rome uses and those flights drop Roman Holiday map sets ('set' is a cruel joke - it's ONE map. 'Seldom' is also a cruel joke - I got ONE of them in 20 flights).

OK so probably best to use the spyglass. It seems like "seldom" in the world of maps is around 5%. I got 2 bird masks in 45 flights which is about what you saw. Before the last update, I was getting around 25%. Originally I was aiming for 4 aztec pyramids but now more like 2.

So you're trying to do Puerto Rico/Miami/Sacramento/etc. flights? I know we've been trading repair parts recently; you want to just start swapping Spare Wires and Additional Radars?
