More Than Two Runways

I notice some players dedicate a lot of land to multiple runways (more than two). I've only seen two guest planes at any one time. So I was wondering why use up precious land for all the extra runways?

i have 4 runways. no other reason other than my airport is realistic and not hyper efficient like some people build.

a lot of level 40 players have only 1 level 5 runway.

In a previous game I had 3 runways. Levels 5, 3, 1. At no stage did I ever have more than 2 guest planes.

I was also wondering about this. Also does the level of runways also possibly affect the frequency of higher level planes?

When I have eight runways I can send eight guest planes (requiring refueling) with 1 unit of fuel or seven without fuel at all. You can take the planes and keep them on the runways without refueling. A minute later another guest plane can land....

i have 3 level 5 runways. 2 because thats just a must at level 40. the extra 1 was because i had the extra cash and space. i still have way more than enough to add things later if i need to and if i get really desperate for space just sell off a runway.

I have 8 or 9 level 5 runways on TDV19. After a particular stage coins are more or less meaning less. I stopped building and have started replacing buildings with pyramids, Stonehenge etc.

I normally use the runways to load the aircraft up with passengers and once I have all eight or nine – then send them off and activate the spyglass or golden dice with sky captain bonus just before they arrive back. In the meantime the use the spare runways to land guest planes.
