Can't add any friend codes...

Every code I try is invalid.....I saw another post that said you can only add friends using the same OS, I am using an Android and even trying to add other Android users don't work....please help!!

some codes may have characters that can be misinterpreted e.g. ell (l), one (1) & Upper eye (I); Upper oh (O) & zero (0)

Also game only allows 5 redeems a day per account then says 'invalid' even though it is fine just quota exceeded.

Try a friend code that is clearly not possible to be written incorrectly (obvious numbers clear letters)

I thought of that but even when I add ones you can't mix up it still doesn't work. If there is a max of 5 does that include accepting or adding people it suggests? Maybe I keep hitting that max....I have never added anyone with a code successfully yet and gotten the 100 coins.

Ah ha!!! I saw somewhere else another user was having this issue and that they were on a Kindle Fire which is what I am using. They mentioned that their friend code was longer than other users and I thought...maybe I can only add other Kindle Fire users. It worked! I could add them! So apparently Kindle Fire users are only compatible with other Kindle Fire users.

Ah that makes sense.

As Kindle is locked to Amazon Store I think it makes it count as a different app & possibly connects to a different game server?

Just tried to add your friend code from a Google Play install and said your code was invalid so that supports the different server idea.

I guess this is not a problem of Kindle but many android devices.
I am suffering from the username issue and am not able to redeem any code but those belongin to ipad users.

As I have another tablet, I started a new (secondary) game from scracth in this tablet. After some days (around 5), the problem appeared also in this second game ... some users changed their names to username and when I enter a code nothing happens except if it is a code for an ipad user.

I have just tried to add some friend codes. i clicked redeem, but nothing happened. i didn't get an invalide message or the 100 coins! any ideas whats up?

Same problem - any friend code I try gives me "this promo-code is not valid".
Although the weekly promo-code worked today. I am on Android phone, installed the app from Amazon store, no facebook account.

mine works now. i switched off my phone and then re connected to wifi. maybe it was a coincidence? i don't know

@be11 - if you are using the amazon play store version (your friend code is longer with an m as the 2nd letter) you will not be able to add the rest of the Google play/store users these are different versions of the game...

You are can only add amazon play users...

Same problem here -- weekendcode doesn't work, nor does adding friends. I don't even get a dialog saying that friendcodes aren't valid, just nothing happens. Read on facebook that this problem on Android may only happen to players with level between 35 and 40.

Weekend code works.
Looks like that problem is over.

I've recived a message that one of my friend start space launch ( probably You skyhigh)
But I checked there is none:( and there is still presents black hole:(
I wonder if my friends get presents from me, I do not get any of them

I'm having the same trouble too and noted the friend code difference. I'd transfer the game to my smartphone but I'm afraid I'll lose all my data even if the game admins are willing to do that.

Maybe we can start a Kindle friend/swap thread and see if we can help each other out?

the Google version is currently at V1.83 - you can check this against yours...

Yes - there is a problem between these two versions gifting etc...

For now I've simply added the words kindle fire to my signature. Maybe that could be an added required note for the swap thread so each player can more easily target swaps/friends running on the same platform? I'm not sure how much interest there is from the Kindle Fire community.

BTW if you have not progressed too far in your game from Amazon - you could try to slid load the google version...

ATM I am one of those that shows level 30 with no next level... just an ever increasing amount of 146k and counting. Its probably a little late for me to try and switch. I know GameInsight's site says they can't transfer btwn platforms but kindle is more android based so I asked anyway. I'm definitely expecting a big NWIH.

I'd love to see the procedures just in case - especially if playability will be drasticallly stunted and no support and/or updates for Kindle - it might be wise to just start over.

I know this thread is a little old, BUT...I am currently having this problem. I saw in the thread that if your friend code is "am" or the second letter is "m" then you probably downloaded the amazon version, but I downloaded from google play and I'm android. I have tried adding folks from the forum and get Promo Code Not Valid error message, but when I PM someone they send a friend request to me and I accept no problem. Any help is welcomed. Also, any new neighbors would be an added benefit. My code is ammri97.

Usually the invalid means you have exceeded your limit. Don't even bother with the suggested friends list, it's worthless and will use up your requests.

If you are android, you should be able to request 5 ios or anroid users. The ios users will not give you 100 coins but can receive your request and add you back. Also save one of them on Friday or Saturday for the promo code (Android and Kindle users).

Try again tomorrow and if you are still having issues open a ticket with Gi. Good Luck!

why do we need "codes" anyway? Can't the player's name suffice?
