Black Bar after updating to IOS 8.1.2 Empty Black Bar after updating to IOS 8.1.2

This is the first time I've posted here. Hope I get it right.

I play on my iPad and last night I updated to IOS 8.1.2.

Now my AC has a black bar across it. Sometimes it's right at the top where it covers all my stats. Other times it's in the middle which is mostly more tolerable, but then it covers the sentence that tells me how many more gifts I can give on the Outgoing Gifts tab.

Anyone else have this problem? G! has me (erroneously) flagged as a time traveler, so they will no longer provide me with tech support.
