Time Traveller from Germany

Greetings from Germany,
since yesterday I've got the same problems like some other users. I've got this message in German and was surprised, what a nonsense. But then my flights didn't count anymore in the map and I can't pick up more the money from my buildings. I shut down my system, after the restart the buildings worked well, but still the flights didn't count. SO I contacted what they call a "customer service". The same result, they told me that I've changed my computer time - to get what???? You must know, I've spend a lot of real money to play that game. They send me a code to reactivate my account with the warning, that I will be blocked forever if "this" will happen again, no comments on my explanations, that my computer time is ok (new windows 8.1 system, never changed the time until today). So, I've wrote them back, that I will not test their code only to get the more higher problem. I also told them something about "you live from us true customers" - of course no reaction. After the messages I read about that problem here I don't have the hope to get help. I am totally angry, because my money is gone and I can't use the game anymore with real fun. I believe that they have a technical problem with their game and are not able to fix it. And we are now the bad guys....for me the kind of not answering or reading our comments shows a lot aboiut that company. They will not get any money more from me and will place warninfs in the German communities to play games from GI. Best regards to all.

Welcome to the forum. Very sorry you are having the "time traveler" issue. Wish you had found the forum before the issue because it seems everyone will receive it that plays very long.

Yes, G! is in it for the money. You can get mad and quit, G! don't care. If you enjoy the game and wish to continue, you can play this game without spending real money but it takes patience and a good network of friends. Can't help you with patience , but you can start a network of friends by posting in the Windows daily swap thread. They can help with swapping gifts you need.

Also, you need to back up your game frequently so you can restore when these GI warnings occur. They may be able to help you find a good back-up and restore program for Windows also.

Hi Drivefast, thanks for the welcome and your answer. Got a new message from G! - believe it or not - the same as before :

To unblock the game please set the right time and date on your device and enter the following code: XXXXX
To redeem the code press the Sociality button (the button with 3 people in the bottom menu) → press another button with 3 people → select the Add Friend tab and enter the code in the input field.
Please, let me know of the result!

And again no answer how I have to change my - correct time - in a G! correct time....

I am sure that if I will use that code their system will react again and here is the announcement how GI will do that:

I will still play the game without the possibility to get prices for the most flights and will try to find new neighbours here (first I have to translate my gifts I can send). Is it normal to have nearby 100 active neighbours and 400 in waiting position? Sometimes I think these neighbours are not real people, because they send me a Generator as example (neighbour level 36 - my level 34!!!)

If you ever are in airport city online earlier than a time you were previously, you will get this error and no help from G!.  Their position is you cheated.  So, if you cross time zones or your computer resets the time like mine did once back to 01/01/1900...  then you will get the message.  You will lose any gold/silver coins, be blocked from collecting money and passengers, and flying planes.  That's why you need a good backup/restore program.

These are the windows players.  Nice guys but they don't usually keep to themselves and don't visit the rest of the forum.  I tried playing on my laptop but found it too cumbersome.  I use my android tablet.

You will probably be fine or you can wait and it may unlock eventually (mine did).  The flight map is bogus anyway.  Too many people working the system, you will be very lucky to receive something there.

Probably if you are adding them from the suggestion tab.  I only add neighbors from the forum.  At least then I have a way to communicate with them if I want to.  

Remember, it's only a stupid game.  It should be fun.  I know it's frustrating, but don't let it ruin your day or week.

Had exactly the same problem as you and like you got exactly the same crap from GI. I am not going to use the fix code until for the time being as its my '"last chance" before i am blocked permanently.

Hi Casino, after made some pressure now the "senior support agent" send me again the same message - their system is checked and works correct - but they like to see me in their G! family. Once again no answer to my question, what happens when this mistake will repeat after using the fix code. In three weeks the summer time in Germany ends and all clocks will be reset one hour back, normally then all German players should be time travellers.....

Hahaha, in the next few weeks, 50 percent of the world population will be time travelers  .

Funny, but seriously, if you set your clock back manually, make sure when you enter the game it is later than the last time you were playing. Example: if you exit the game at 3pm, set your clock back to 2pm. Do not attempt to play again until your clock is past 3pm or you will get the time travel award.

As demonstrated on many threads, G! will be of no help.

This actually makes sense to me. Thanks drivefast.

Yes, that's why I said if you adjust manually (my tablet does not automatically adjust the time). The ones that adjust automatically will do so at approximately 2am and will not effect most players (except maybe Mei ).

Why Meilin?
When you live in the US, does the time will set back on local time 3am, so in every timezone on a different moment? Or at one moment at the same time?

Just picking on Mei. She seems to be a night owl and play in the early morning hours while most people over here are sleeping.

In the US, the clocks (all the cell towers, etc) are generally reset at 2am on a Saturday night local time because that is when someone (the keeper of the clocks?) decided it will have the least impact on people. Most of us are sleeping and will wake up in a new time zone.

How do they handle it the Netherlands?

Same here, just not the same dates as the US of A... We have the last weekend of march and october as change dates.

I figured Mei is living in the West of the US and having a time zone which is very late compared to the others in the US.  She's always still up when I wake up early to go to work.

Clocks will be set back at 3am (to 2am), the last (Saturday-) Sunday of October. The same as in the US, only an hour later. We don't have different time zones in our country (as in the rest of most parts in Europe).
In spring clocks will be set forward at the last Sunday of March, while yours will be set forward a few days earlier if I recall correctly. When I was working at the stock exchange (where we work with the NY stock Exchange as well) this was always causing some trouble in our systems!

Actually, The time keeper changed ours a few years ago to the 1st Saturday in November. I prefer that. I always thought it foolish to change it the week before Halloween. Dressing the kids up weird and in dark colors, then sending them out to run up and down the streets, house to house, in search for candy.

Darkness, kids, costumes, cars.... just sayin.

Hi guys, this is the original message from G! received today regarding the ending summertime this Weekend in Germany. May be it helps:

"I would like to bring to your attention the fact that changing system's clock time or date affects the game. In this case changing system date and/or time is cheating and it is not allowed to do while playing the game as you can get unfair advantage doing so.

In order to avoid such situations we strongly recommend you to close the game when you want to change system date/time on your device and open it again only after you complete all the changes.

Please, note the fact that any changes should be done using the Time Zone option. If you change date/time manually it will affect the game and you will receive a warning message"
