Land of Opportunities Event

When you complete the event, does it go away or can you complete it a second time? I thought I read in one post that someone completed the white house and the event went away (but I can't find it now 
)
I have enough United we Stand to finish it but I don't want to stop being able to collect the gift shops

If you complete the event you won't be able to continue collecting from gift shops and guest planes. The drops from US cities will stay but in a less chance. Try to get as many collections for next year event!

So, it is best to wait until the event is almost over to complete it.
You think they will have the same event next year so all the additional collections should be saved until then?

What I read is that many played last year event and have enough collections that automatically get the white house.
In my case I finished the event and now I have 2 collections from 'The Pioneer Trail', 2 from 'Fathers of the Nation' and 0 from 'United We Stand'
If there is a similar event next year I will start 2-2-0...better than 0-0-0

Guess I'll wait and grab all the collections I can before I complete the event.
I collected 4 and have 11 uncollected of the Pioneer Trail collection. I have 3 collected on the Fathers of the nation but no extras, and 2 collected on the United we Stand, one more ready to collect so I'll hold off collecting it for awhile and hope to complete some more before it's gone.

And the quest is over and I can't get Franklins... After 15 days flying only to US destionations with all kind of planes, I have 4-14-15-9-0 on Fathers on Nation.
